orsinal |
Want to see a superb use of Flash
animation? Visit Orsinal. Instead of the usual bandwidth-munching,
irrelevant Flash welcome screen, Orsinal uses Flash to present a
collection of endearing games. This is a site where you can take your
three-year-old to visit and find yourself getting hooked, too. Not only
are the Flash games stylish and fun, the entire interface is beautifully
designed. |

This site is a tribute to photographer,
Ernst Haas. Whether or not you're a fan of Haas, it's a must-visit. The
interface is one of the classiest I've seen on any site – clever and
engaging, while not detracting from the content. |
| cybergeography |
Perhaps you've never thought of the
Internet in visual terms, but a group of people have been mapping the
Internet in a variety of ways, both statistically and graphically. The
result is Cybergeography, a revelation of a site that lets you visualise
and explore the Net in a whole variety of new ways. |

One of the great vertical sites on
the Web, New York City Underground shows a cross section of New York
City from the street level burrowing down to 800 feet below. The
graphics themselves are fascinating, and augmented by audio tours of the
different levels. Be warned: you'll want Shockwave, RealAudio and
QuickTime installed to get the most from it. This site is a small
sub-section of the National Geographic site, which is worth viewing in
its entirety. |

Ken Duncan takes stunning photographs
of my home country, Australia. His site is full of beautiful images and
lots of fun things to explore. Grab yourself some free wallpaper or
browse through the gallery. Makes me homesick! |

Photographer Kurt Ross has designed a
site that's a delight for the eyes. This is one of the few sites that
uses frames well, and one of the few that successfully combines the
commercial and explorative aspects of the Web. |
