Figure 1: What a difference a few tags make!

In the early days of the Web, most Web pages looked alike with the key difference being the content. With the current sophistication of HTML, it’s easy to make a Web page stand out from the crowd visually.

The two Web pages below show how HTML’s evolution has changed the face of the Web.

The first image shows this article (in its original version) produced using the first version of HTML and an early Web browser.
